Paklenica National Park
The Paklenica karst river canyon is a national park in Croatia. It is located in Starigrad, northern Dalmatia, at the southern slopes of Velebit mountain, not far from Zadar. It has two canyons: Mala (Small) and Velika (Big) Paklenica. Today there is no water flowing throughout Mala Paklenica.
Plitvice National Park
Plitvice Lakes National Park is the oldest national park in Southeast Europe and the largest national park in Croatia. The national park was founded in 1949 and is situated in the mountainous karst area of central Croatia, at the border to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The important north-south road connection, which passes through the national park area, connects the Croatian inland with the Adriatic coastal region.

Fausto Veranzio or Faust Vrančić (Latin: Faustus Verantius; Hungarian and Vernacular Latin: Verancsics Faustus) (circa 1551 – January 17, 1617) was a polymath and bishop from the Venetian Republic.
Veranzio's masterwork, Machinae Novae (Venice 1615 or 1616),[14] contained 49 large pictures depicting 56 different machines, devices, and technical concepts.
